FORD LDM Localization

Configuration of the LIN Nodes can be accomplished through multiple mechanisms, in vehicle or subassembly electrical connection (Config Pins), user manipulation or via data transfer from a production or service tool. The Ford supported configuration mode is done via LIN thru the Body Control Module. It may be used in cases where the configuration is too complex for Config Pins and/or is not available to the user for manipulation. LIN base configuration is not required for all Node Lighting Modules, but if configuration of the Node is required “In Vehicle” via production or service tools, this methodology shall be used.

For units that do NOT require configuration, this routine will still be executed, the node shall report configured state immediately (APINFO4->0). This is done to allow the BCMto collect the node part number, which is done concurrently with configuration.
