The LDM shall have an internal NTC thermistor and monitor temperatures critical to operation. To avoid stressing the LDM, the outputs shall be derated to increase efficiency. Derating shall occur by reduction of current output. The functional outputs shall be prioritized as follows:
|Temperature |Function |Maximum Allowable Derating|
|125℃|Foreground LB |50%| |0%|
| |HB |50%| |20%|
| |Turn Indicator| 50%| 0%|
| |DRL/Park |50%| |0%|
| |SBL |50%|
|135℃ |Foreground LB |70%| |0%|
| |HB |70%| |50%|
| |Turn Indicator |50%| |0%|
| |DRL/Park| 50%| 20%|
| |SBL |50%|
|145℃ |Foreground LB |70%| |20%|
| |HB |100%| |Deactivated|
| |Turn Indicator| 50%| 20%|
| |DRL/Park |50%|
| |SBL |Deactivated|
Table 17: LDM Internal Thermal Derating Output Requirements
NOTE1: Temperature1/2/3 should refer to the LDM thermal simulation.
NOTE2: Derated functions shall recover to performance of the previous range with a 5°C hysteresis.
Example: If Temperature2 is reached and HB is at 50% output for thermal derating, the temperature reading of the NTC must drop to less than (Temperature2 – 5℃) before returning to 80% output and (Temperature1 – 5℃)for full performance.
